NOTICE
Prior permission required before each landing and take-off. Contact Bill Coe, by phone 386-804-2323 or email [email protected]. If you do not have specific permission for each landing you are trespassing and will be subject to criminal prosecution, FAA violations and aircraft seizure. It took a lot of time, effort, and money to make this airport. In granting operational approval, Volusia County has put several restrictions on the operation of this runway. Among them was that this would be an occasional use / infrequently used runway. If you use this runway without my specific authorization or fail to follow all rules and procedures outlined here you are jeopardizing my ability to continue to operate Coe Field. I will do everything legally possible to protect the right to operate Coe field.
Runway may have ruts, holes, muddy areas soft areas, debris, ant mounds, manure, equipment, animals, people, vehicles, and other hazards on it. There is a herd of cows free roaming the area and they often graze on the runway. On occassion, there are individuals with permission to fly Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) at the airport, maintaining flights under 400ft per 14 CFR Part 107. The runway is under construction and there are concrete blocks within 5 ft of the center line. Currently, only the north half is landable. Use at your own risk. By using this runway you assume all responsibility for death, injury, and property damage as a result of your use of this runway.

About Landing
There is a dirt road and a big deep ditch that parallels the road at each end of the runway in both directions. The runway extended centerline runs between the ditch and the road. If you are on the runway centerline and overrun the end of the runway you will go into the ditch. The roads are not for aircraft use. There may not be sufficient clearance from vegetation for the wings and the roads may not be wide enough to accommodate aircraft wheels. The road is relatively narrow with steep banks into swamp and ditches. The ditches are very deep and filled with water. If you go off into the ditch or swamp you could be injured or killed and your airplane will likely be totaled.
- The Runway Grass surface length is 2500 feet. There are tall trees and big ditches at each end of runway. Make sure your aircraft has sufficient landing and take-off performance before attempting to land.
- Caution for Livestock and wild animals may be on the runway. Unattended aircraft may be damaged from animals.
- Caution for UAS flying up to 400ft AGL
- For approaches to runway 9 make steep low power approaches.
- No Touch and goes
- No staying in the pattern.
About the Airspace
- Pattern Altitude – 1000 feet, Do not go lower than 1000 feet until you are in a position to maintain at least 1000 feet lateral separation form all homes and structures.
- Caution for Daytona Class C airspace starting near HWY 44 on the north.
- All patterns must be flown to the North, Downwind legs over HWY 44. Fly Left hand patterns for Runway 7 and right hand patterns for runway 25.
- Follow the magenta lines for both approaches and departures. For North bound arrivals using runway 25 and south bound departures using runway 7 follow the south magenta track. For all other arrival and departures use the north magenta track.
- It is important that we respect our neighbors and minimize their exposure to aircraft noise. We want to be a good neighbor. If you cannot or will not comply with the following do not come here!
- Do not fly over houses to the south of the runway.
- No flying within 1000 feet of any residences or structures – red circles
Aircraft Requirements
- Aircraft must be able to withstand landing on a grass runway that it not maintained.
- No Loud airplanes. Please do not come here if you have a loud airplane. If prop tips go supersonic do not come here.
- In order to stay clear of noise sensitive areas follow Magenta lines for approaches and departures
